Working under a primary NBCC contractor, our team delivered a comprehensive solution designed to meet the rigorous standards of a premier national healthcare institution.

Technical Execution & Scope

While the initial work order focused on a 10,000 sq. ft. section, our total execution expanded to cover over 25,000 sq. ft. of contiguous roof area. The project utilized a multi-stage Polyurethane (PU) based waterproofing system to ensure long-term structural integrity and leak prevention.

Key Project Phases included:

• Surface Preparation: Mechanical and manual cleaning to remove laitance and dust, ensuring a pristine substrate for membrane adhesion.

• Structural Repair: Extensive sealing and crack filling using Sikaflex PU Sealant to address structural vulnerabilities before membrane application.

• System Application: Implementation of a high-build Sikalastic-562 IN system. The application consisted of:

  • One dedicated primer coat for maximum substrate bonding.

  • Three reinforced coats of PU-based liquid membrane.

  • Integrated Glass Fabric reinforcement for enhanced tensile strength and durability.

• Validation: Rigorous leakage and seepage testing of the entire terrace area to ensure 100% moisture protection.

• Standardization: All works were executed following the methodology approved by NBCC officials.

• Premium Materials: Exclusively utilized Sika brand products, ensuring the highest industrial grade of waterproofing chemicals.

The project involved the complete preparation and installation of a high-performance Atactic Polypropylene (APP) modified bituminous waterproofing system across a substantial contiguous layout.

Key Highlights of the Execution: * Total Volume Managed: Successfully blanketed and protected an expansive area of over 900+ square meters.

• Premium Material Specification: Utilized industry-grade 3mm APP Membrane from the Berger ProShield range, known for its superior tensile strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to UV degradation.

• Application Methodology: Employed advanced torch-welding techniques to achieve seamless joint bonding across the entire substrate, creating an impenetrable monolithic barrier against water ingress.

• Compliance Standards: The execution strictly adhered to the rigorous structural engineering and quality benchmarks set by NBCC officials for central government institutional projects.
